Tim and Bern.
Hello all, this is Mike writing this entry. Since I was in charge we are of course a week behind in posting this. These pictures cover the first part of Uncle Tims visit to see matthew, and the next post will cover the second part.
Before we begin the Bern trip, I wanted to put in a picture of the lovely, spacious kitchen that we have to work with. I was standing in the bedroom to take this. Still, tammie has managed to make wonderful meals in the 2 feet of space we have. And to make you jealous, we carefully arraigned the fresh bread and cheese we had just gotten at the Ferney Saturday Market.
So Tim came is last weekend[or two weekends ago by now] and after picking him up from the airport we drove to Bern Switzerland. Which is a lovely town, and like all towns in the area, completely closed on Sundays, so we brought a picnic lunch. This is a pic of the downtown, all the street level stores are enclosed in the promenades.
It was a very nice town, but for some reason only dachshunds were prohibited from stores.
As always we need pics of matthew playing, so here is is on a spinning papasan.
And he wanted to help with the drive back.
And of course, no blog update is complete with pics of matthew on a slide. Here are ones taken during our lunch, as you can see from the food in everyones mouths.

Uncle Tim thought it looked like fun.
The Bern church had an incredible decorated entryway, with many many carvings.
And since I am here to do physics, we had to get a picture of the apartment where Einstein stayed while he was here[and developed relativity]
Well, that is it for Bern, after this Tim wen to Rome and Florence on his own, then we met back up with him the next weekend in Milan. Those pictures will be in the next post. Including pics of Tammie, and matthew on the roof of the duomo church.
Bye
